This policy explains what information Ensemble Advisor collects when you visit ensembleadvisor.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Ensemble Advisor is operated by Ensemble Team, Inc. (“Ensemble Advisor,” “we,” “us”).

We are an independent education publisher.

Please do not send us sensitive information

Do not send Social Security numbers, bank or brokerage account numbers, tax returns, passwords, or health information through any form, comment, or email to us. We do not need them, and our forms are not built to protect them. If a professional we introduce you to needs those details, give them directly to that professional through their own secure process.

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, subject, and message.
  • Match with an Advisor form. Whatever you choose to enter, such as your name, contact details, location, and the kind of help you are looking for. This form is hosted by Microsoft Forms, so Microsoft processes what you submit under its own privacy terms.
  • Email sign-ups. If you subscribe to updates, your email address and any preferences you choose.
  • Comments. If you comment on a post, your name, email address, website (if provided), comment text, IP address, and browser user-agent.

Information collected automatically

  • Server and security logs. Our host (GoDaddy) and its security and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page, and time of visit. This is used to run, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
  • Brevo. We use Brevo’s website script to understand which pages are visited and, if you are an email subscriber, to connect site activity with your subscription so we can send more relevant content. Brevo uses cookies and similar technologies to do this.
  • Spam protection. Comments and some form submissions may be checked by Akismet (Automattic), which receives the submission content, IP address, and user-agent to detect spam.
  • Fonts and embedded content. Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts and content from other services (for example, Microsoft Forms or embedded video). Those services receive your IP address when the content loads. Comment avatars may be loaded from Gravatar.
  • Advertising and sponsor measurement. If we run ads or sponsored placements, the ad or measurement provider may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads. We will update this policy to name those providers when we add them.

How we use information

  • To respond to your messages and requests.
  • To introduce you to a CPA, financial advisor, or estate attorney when you ask us to.
  • To send newsletters or updates you signed up for.
  • To understand which articles are useful and improve the site.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and comply with law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these situations:

  • Professionals you ask to be matched with. When you request an introduction, we share the details you provided with the professional or firm we introduce you to. Ensemble Advisor may be compensated if you become their client. Once you are in contact with them, their own privacy policy governs how they use your information.
  • Service providers. Companies that host, secure, or operate parts of the site or our email, such as GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Brevo, Microsoft, Automattic, and Google. They may use the information only to provide their services to us or as their own policies describe.
  • Sponsors. Sponsors receive aggregated, non-identifying information, such as page views or click counts, unless you separately choose to contact them.
  • Legal and safety reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ensemble Advisor, our readers, or others.
  • Business transfers. If Ensemble Advisor is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may transfer to the new owner, subject to this policy.

Under some state laws, using cookies for analytics or advertising across websites can count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising.” You can opt out as described below.

Your choices

  • Email. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
  • Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work as expected if you do.
  • Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we treat a browser Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for that browser.
  • Introductions. You decide whether to contact or hire any professional we introduce. You can ask us not to share your request with anyone.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have about you and how we use it.
  • Get a copy of your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.

To make a request, email info@ensembleteam.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If we deny your request, you may reply to appeal.

How long we keep information

We keep contact and introduction requests as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs and spam-filter data are kept for limited periods set by our providers. We delete or de-identify information when we no longer need it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, a managed host, and limited access to submissions. No website or email system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason not to send sensitive financial details through the site.

Children

This site is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact info@ensembleteam.com and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

Ensemble Advisor is based in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States and wherever our service providers operate.

Links to other sites

Articles may link to other websites, including the websites of professionals and sponsors. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. We will post the new version here and change the effective date. If a change is significant, we will give more visible notice.
